what are you following

Image
What Are You Following?  “Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.” 3 John 1:11 (KJV) You do what you follow and ultimately become what you follow. As a child of God, it is vital to be conscious of the things that are attracting you because whatever gets your attention is capable of influencing you for good or evil. No wonder the Apostle John exhorts Christians to follow or imitate what is good and shun evil. The one who practices good and has a godly character is of God, and the one who practices evil or tolerates evil has not seen God. Dear beloved, what are you imitating? If you are born again, then you are God’s seed. Thus you are capable of practicing good and shunning evil. If you still don’t know what is good, then follow Jesus Christ through the Word of God, and do whatever He does (Ephesians 5:1). Doing good works shows that we are the children of God and distinguishes us

Do you love God

Image
Do You Love God?  “And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.” 2 John 1:6 (KJV) The Most High God is love. He loves His creation, especially human beings. He has such a unique relationship with human beings that even when sin came in to mar the relationship, He sent His beloved Son, Jesus Christ, to restore it through His death on the cross. The sacrifice of His only begotten Son on the cross of Calvary for the sin of mankind is the demonstration of His ultimate love for mankind. Dear beloved, there is no doubt about the love of God for you, but do you love God? It is a question we all need to answer. The first indication of loving God is accepting His gift of salvation. The second is carrying out His commandments, which are in the Holy Bible. Jesus Christ said, “If you love Me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15). Let us not merely do lip service but truly love

are you still walking im darkness

Image
Are You Still Walking in Darkness?  “If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” 1 John 1:6–7 (KJV) Ignorance is responsible for the lack of progress in the lives of a lot of Christians. Ignorance can even lead to destruction. If darkness is used in scripture, we need to understand the context within which it is used. If it has nothing to do with the climate, then it will probably refer to sin and wickedness. When a person becomes born again, he or she is translated from darkness into the Kingdom of light (Colossians 1:13). Thus, God expects such a person to walk in the light of righteousness and holiness. Only those who walk in the light have fellowship with the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. Dear beloved, do not love sin and wickedness, because they will destroy you

God is more than enough

Image
Title : God is more than enough "It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect. Psalm 18:32" Devotion : The scriptures above are loaded with so much for the believer in Christ Jesus. If you need strength today, ask God for strength and He will also make your way perfect. If you need speed to work with, go to God for grace and He will place you at a high position. He teaches us to fight the fight of faith and to win all our battles. He protects His children from backsliding and makes them great. He also keeps us from falling and enlarges our steps. What a mighty God we serve! Share your testimony here!

defeated foes

Image
Title : Defeated Foes "And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Colossians 2:15" Devotion : Jesus Christ died and was buried. He went to hell on our behalf and defeated the devil and his cohorts of darkness and made public show of them on the cross. He demonstrated what was impossible with men and now has made it possible for believers in Him to continue to make public show of the devil and his cohorts of darkness by using the name of Jesus. At the mention of the name Jesus Christ of Nazareth, all knees bow, in heaven, on earth, and under the earth. Dear reader, do you want to triumph over everything? Then use the name of Jesus Christ. God's faithfulness

Image
Title : God's Faithfulness "Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth. Psalm 119:90" Devotion : The faithfulness of God cannot be questioned because it is evident for everyone to see in the scriptures. When man is faithless God remains faithful. God was faithful with Adam and Eve even though they sinned against Him. God was also faithful with Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, David, etc. The names mentioned are from different generations, attesting to the fact that God's faithfulness extends to all generations. In our present day, God is still faithful; He has been faithful to me and my family. Has HE been faithful to you too?

coming together

Image
Title : Coming Together "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Hebrews 10:25" Devotion : There is a corporate anointing we receive any time we come together as believers in fellowship with our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. This is the anointing Jesus prayed for the disciples that they may be one in Him. This anointing causes us to love one another, create fellowship with one another, pray for one another, be kind toward one another, learn from one another, exhort one another, sympathize with one another, etc. Therefore, those Christians who neglect or forsake Christian fellowship are losing many benefits and will soon fall away from the faith.

young man

Image
Title : Young Man "Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. Psalm 119:9" Devotion : Young men are people endowed with so much talent and energy that sometimes they do not know what to do with them and therefore abuse or misuse them. The opening scripture instructs the youth to heed the Word of God. This is the only way to curtail the abuse of their gifts and talent and live a holy life. If they heed the Word of God sin will be far from them, and they will not wander from the commandments or ways of God. Dear reader, are you a youth? If you are, then heed the Word of God and shun evil company. Share your thoughts here!

little children

Image
Title : Little Children "But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Mark 10:14" Devotion : The love of Christ Jesus is no respecter of persons; He loved everyone including the children. The disciple didn't know this until the scenario in Mark 10:14 occurred. Children can easily be ignored by adults for many reasons, but Jesus Christ has a special place for them. He said unless the kingdom of heaven is received like a child we will by no means enter it. The attitude of the child always acknowledges the parents or adults as knowing best, therefore the child receives a gift from the parents without any doubt or question whatsoever. Furthermore, children have the following qualities: forgiving, kind, obedient, humble, teachable, eager to learn, and completely trusting of their parents. These are the qualities God wants us to have so we can in
